Hello!!! Today, I would like
to tell about how Google services, namely Google AdWords, work with non-Latin
URLs.
Google has solved
the problem of incompatibility of Google AdWords advertising service with IDN-domains that
contain non-Latin characters.
Previously, creating a
new ad, one had to use punycode-equivalent
of International domain names. For example, игры.рф, had to be entered as xn--c1ajz8b.xn--p1ai. And now Google changed
it.
In July 2011, Google Adwords began to support Internationalized
Domain Names for display and
destination URLs on Google ads. This means advertisers will no longer have to
show a non-ASCII ad followed by an ASCII domain name. The new list of acceptable
characters also includes accents and diacritical marks.
AdWords clients can enter unicode
characters for the URLs and Google will verify that it works correctly in both
unicode and punycode.
The display URL will only show up
only in cases where the language matches that of the user’s Google interface,
otherwise it will render in punycode.
Good Job. I like how you found something about Gooooogle that goes along with your topic.
ОтветитьУдалитьI'll even give you 1 extra credit point for pulling that off, because I bet that took a little searching to find that. DH
